Here's a couple cute pictures I took of Chloe yesterday while she was eating dinner and watching the home improvement channel on TV with Brad and I. Don't worry, eating dinner at the table as a family is important to us and these couch-tv-dinners won't last long :)

Today was Alyssa's Baby Shower and it was such a success. Alyssa looked so good and it was so wonderful to see all our close family and friends. The theme was Fairy Tale and Chloe was asked to come dressed in her Cinderella costume, which I was more than excited to do. Each food dish came from a different fairy tale (bacon strips for the Three Little Pigs, salmon that was labeled "Arial's BFF", green beans for Jack and the Beanstock, little pastries that said "Eat Me" from Alice and Wonderland, and countless others). It was held in my aunt and uncle's backyard where they recently installed a zip line and it was an absolute blast. I was so excited the weight limit easily surpassed a normal adult so I immediately jumped on and was soon followed by my uncle. I can't wait to see how all the pictures turned out and I will be sure to post them too. For now, I just have a picture of the zip line and my first attempt at making cinnamon rolls from scratch, which took place last week. The cinnamon rolls turned out beautiful but the taste was less than bueno. I will be reattempting it soon with a different, hopefully tastier, recipe.

Here's Chloe's Fathers' Day gift to Brad, which she made in nursery class today at church! She even walked over and gave it to Brad herself. So cute!

Happy Fathers Day!!! We had a wonderful time out in Erda with my family again this weekend. My sister, Alyssa, and I took the dogs out to the Grantsville reservoir and hunted for some crawdads on Saturday morning. We all took my dad to the Demolition Derby that evening for Fathers' Day. It was a blast we and got to see some serious auto destruction. They also had a young man come out into the muddy area during intermission and propose to his girlfriend. There's nothing like mud, exhaust, funnel cakes, and romance. The announcer, along with the Tooele County royalty and Dairy Queen, scoured the arena for pieces of shrapnel that had come off the cars after each heat and would give it to any kid clinging to the fence at the base of the stands. There must have been nearly a hundred kids all scrambling to get a piece of those old cars. God Bless America. That's how life should be. Huntin' for crawdads and then going to a demolition derby where the Tooele County royalty and Dairy Queen gave kids hunks of sharp metal and plastic junk that had come off old cars. It goes to prove that kids don't need expensive toys to make them happy. They knew there was nothing cooler than the remnants of violence between a 1982 station wagon and a Crown Victoria.

Here's the rest of the pictures from our fun picnic with the Butlers.

This evening we had a fun time grilling steak and eating watermelon at the local park with our great friends, Scott and Kenzie Butler. Chloe had a blast at the playground and I admit that us adults had our fair share of kid fun on it too.
