Finger Painting

Here's a couple pictures of Chloe doing what she loves. The top picture is of her punching out the cards for her new memory card game that she got from the Easter Bunny. The second picture is of finger painting, which she asks to do at least once every day. Today I was able to get outside during Chloe's nap and mow the lawn. I also trimmed the hedge again. It's crazy how fast that thing grows. It could easily star in a horror movie.

Utah Visit

We all just got back from Utah where we spent a wonderful 11 days with the family and friends. We went swimming, had BBQ's, played laser tag, and went to the Zoo and Drive-In Motor Theater.  We also got to check out the new City Creek Center and the City Creek Harmons store.  It was so much fun and being with family again was so wonderful.

Easter Egg Hunt

Last night during a family party here, we sent Chloe on her own little Easter egg hunt that led to the grand prize that the Easter Bunny left her. Chloe was slow to gather the eggs because she kept trying to eat all the contents inside before moving on to the next egg.

Dining Room Progress

So today I kept busy with the dining room and made good progress. I pulled up all the carpet and spongy under stuff and hauled it out to the curb for the garbage man to pick up this morning. Then I painted the inside of the wall and floor boards with the anti-mold paint. Then I drywalled the hole, puttied it up, and sanded it down once it was dry. Now the cement is drying with those two fans. It's definitely drying faster than we thought, which is nice. We can't wait to get started on the flooring!

Couch and Broken Pipe

So, we didn't get to go to the Tucker Easter Egg Hunt Sat morning like we had planned but we still had a great day. It just wasn't as full of candy as anticipated.

While out driving, Brad calls me and says he found a "couch by the side of the road" and wanted to know if he could bring it home. It turns out it was an antiques dealer who was selling his couch, which was a 1940's newly re-upholstered Duncan Phyfe. It's vintage so of course I was all over it. We found the perfect place for it in our loft and spent some time today rearranging our book shelf and Brad's computer desk. We love it! Up until today, our loft has been quite the sight of messiness and blah. Now it's dressed up and beautiful.

Also, Brad and his dad gave our water pipe one last attempt Friday night but it still leaks. So we called a local plumbing company and they came out yesterday afternoon. We're SO glad that our pipe drama has ended. No more wet carpet and soggy walls!!! I can't wait to tear out that carpet and begin installing our new wood-looking flooring. Hip Hip Horrayy!! The picture of the cut open wall is from the day Brad and Chris spent all day trying to fix it.

Atlanta Zoo

We all spent the day today at the Atlanta Zoo with Brad's sister, Melanie, and grandmother who is visiting from Canada. It was wonderful for Brad to have the day off and spend it having fun with the family. Chloe loved all the animals but had extra fun in the petting zoo. Enjoy this little video I made from the footage we took:
