Chloe fun

Yesterday we had such amazing weather again that Chloe and I went outside and did some yard work. Chloe had lots of fun playing in the dirt and sliding down the hill over pine needles. It was so nice to get out into the sunshine that we didn't retire for the day until just before dark. I also was able to be super productive by cutting Chloe's hair, giving her a long bubble bath, cleaning the whole house, organizing Chloe closet, and doing laundry. It always feels great after a productive day and some fun in the sun.

Cake Auction/Pasta Dinner

Tonight we went to the Pasta Dinner/Cake Auction which was a fundraiser for our stake's Young Women. It was really fun and there were about 30 cakes there. The food was great, the place was packed, and the auction was especially fun. One of our stake's own members is a professional auctioneer who was fabulous as he auctioned off all the cakes. Apparently he auctions off livestock for a living but it was pretty obvious by his clothes and cowboy hat. He was a man who fit the part. The frog cake I donated sold well and we came home with a raspberry lemonade cake with fresh raspberries on top. It was delicious! The first picture here is of a fun set of cupcakes that were meant to resemble a TV dinner tray containing chicken legs and all the fixings. Way cute!

Frog Cake

I just finished another cake. This one is for our stake Young Women's fundraiser tomorrow night. They're hosting a spaghetti dinner and cake auction as well as a bake sale. The inside has the "Darn Good Chocolate Cake" recipe with the chocolate pudding mix and chocolate chips mixed in. My favorite! Chloe had fun being creative in all the powdered sugar. Of course, she ate it as she played.

Lizard!

Today while I was walking around the side of the house I almost stepped on a lizard! I didn't see him until he was practically under my feet and he scurried up a nearby bush where I got to watch him for a minute or two. He was at least 6 inches long and a really cute little guy. I googled lizards in Georgia to see if I could find one that looked like him so here is the picture I found.
The weather today has been so amazing that I opened all the windows and took Chloe to our neighborhood park. We just got back and I'm about to start making some beef stroganoff for dinner.

Another Cake

Here's another fun cake I made. Each tier has three layers of cake and each layer is a different color. The bottom is white, the middle is pink, and the top is purple, just to make it a little more fun. This cake only took me a day and a half, which was nice since I've been obsessively making sweet treats lately and having so much fun. You've obviously already seen my post about the chocolates and now this fun cake. Today I decided to make chocolate covered strawberries in honor of Valentines. But who am I kidding, I just really wanted to eat some. I'll probably make some more next week too. You might think that all this fun sweet stuff has been giving me a little extra "fluff" but despite being pregnant I'm actually loosing weight. I've been actively trying to eat more food (healthy, of course) but somehow it hasn't been working yet. Brad even gave me the best surprise ever when he brought home a bunch of California Rolls from the local sushi place (raw fish free). I stuffed myself to the brim and was SO happy. I like having the need to eat more food. :)

Chocolates!

Last Saturday our Relief Society had our monthly craft group where one of our sisters taught us how to make and dip chocolates. It was so much fun that I decided to attempt making them myself for the family. It took all day, but they were a success! I made almond joys, mounds, caramels, and chocolate truffles. Yum!

Chloe's New Dress

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today at church Chloe got to wear a new dress that Grandma made for her (Brad's mom). She looked so beautiful in it and she definitely knew it. She loved twirling in it and picking up her hem like she was going to do a curtsy. The bottom picture is of Chloe enjoying a bowl of my homemade potato soup.
The past couple weeks, I've been attempting to potty train Chloe. We've had some successes but I'm sure we'll get there eventually.
