HOUSE!!

Our offer was accepted!!! We can't wait to seal the deal on our beautiful home and move in. We're so happy and blessed and can't wait to officially become homeowners. The home is in Stone Mountain (Georgia), is a 4 bedroom, in a cute-as-a-button neighborhood, and is just what we were looking for. Yay!!! We just hope the inspection goes well so we need your prayers!

Thunderstorm!

Tonight we had our first major Georgia rainstorm since our move! It was amazing. The thunder was super loud and the rain was so heavy that the roof gutters couldn't handle it so the water poured from the roof like a waterfall along the entire front of the house. We enjoyed the storm from the front porch and got soaking wet even though we were under the roof. I reached my arms out over the porch railing and stuck my hands under the waterfall. I felt like I was in a water park and we even got into a bit of a water fight. That rain comes down in sheets and makes you feel like you're living in a rain forest.

Here are some fun pictures of Chloe around the house. The top picture has beaters covered in a cheesy dip for a bowel of fruit and the bottom picture is of me trying to make cinnamon rolls but I think Chloe was trying to "take the reins". Enjoy!!

We finally heard back about the house we put an offer on. Apparently they now have 7 more offers on the table and the bank has decided to accept the "highest and best offer", so it has essentially become another silent auction. We turned in our new offer yesterday and hope for the best.
Last night we were invited over for dinner at a friend's house. They are really cute family from our student married ward in Provo who moved to Georgia two years ago. They live in Kennesaw and on our drive (1 hour) out there we witnessed our first major accident. We were driving on the main free way and a driver in a big red truck (not a semi) holding a cigarette in one hand and a cellphone in the other was tailgating us. He then flew passed us and weaved in and out of traffic. Luckily Brad continued to watch him because just up ahead he lost control and t-boned into the cement median directly ahead of us. The momentum sent him back across all the lanes and onto the shoulder of the opposite side of the freeway. It was a miracle that no one else smashed into him and it was a miracle that we didn't smash into him. Once his truck came to a stop, the driver climbed out so he was obviously okay and another truck pulled off to help him. His truck wasn't okay though. The engine was smashed to bits and debris covered the lanes.
Not too long after, we passed another major accident where a taxi driver cut off a semi truck and was pulverized in the rear. Based on the large presence of emergency vehicles, someone in that accident definitely got hurt.
Thankfully, we reached our friends' house safely and had a wonderful time. Chloe had fun playing with their 4-year-old son and I got to snuggle with their 2-month-old baby.

We just put an offer down on the house! It's the same one we checked out yesterday and we loved it. We feel good about our offer and can't wait to hear from the bank (it's a foreclosure). The neighborhood was as cute as a button and the neighbors were super friendly. It's a 4 bedroom home with an awesome master bathroom. Cross your fingers!

Arrival in Georgia

Hello all!! We're finally in Georgia and my computer is up and running so I can begin blogging again and keeping everyone updated. So far it's been super hot but today the weather is amazing!!! It rained last night and today it's misty with a temperature that feels like 75 degrees. Over the past week it's been 95-98 degrees with 100% humidity. I took Chloe out exploring in the yard and she got her first boo boo. She scrapped her knees on the sidewalk :(
A couple days ago I caught her drawing on her tummy with a blue pen. I was so happy when I was able to get a picture of her showing it off.
As far as the house hunting goes, we've been able to see an average of 2 homes per day and so far have only been finding ones with seriously gross and damaged interiors where the previous owners obviously tried to damage the home as much as possible before the bank repossessed it in the foreclosure. Last night Brad sent me out on a little adventure of my own to check out some houses. The landscape was so beautiful and there were so many Southern homes that I got to drool over while driving by. I was about to find three good homes but one in particular really caught my eye. I was only able to check out neighborhoods and look in windows but from what I could see it was a great house. So I'm taking Brad and Chloe tonight and this time our agent is getting us access to the inside. Wish us luck that the home will be as good as we think!

Chloe and I had another fun-filled weekend with my family. Yesterday Alyssa, Chloe, and I hit some great yard sales and got most everything for free! Later we went swimming at Deseret Peak for free and then had sushi with our parents. It was such a fun day! Today Chloe got to try out the new pool my parents bought and she really enjoyed it. I forgot to bring her bathing suit so she got to swim in the nude :)
