Camping Trip!

We just got back last night from an awesome camping trip at Jared's Boy Scout camp. We had a bit of a late start on Friday and didn't get to Jared's house until 6pm.

We didn't get our campsite set up and the coals burning until 9pm, which we then had to leave to watch Jared's Scout Friday night Fireside. We left Brad's mom at the campsite to tend the coals and Chloe and I stayed at Jared's house to babysit Stella so Britnee could go. We would have put Chloe to bed beforehand but we didn't anticipate how long the Scout Fireside would take. They didn't return until 11:30pm so we didn't eat dinner until midnight. However, it was a very tasty dinner of fajitas. Chloe got to bed around 12:30 or 1am and slept really well. We got to bed soon thereafter.

The next morning we got up at 9am and had a delicious eggs, hashbrowns, and peppers breakfast. We also cooked my mixed berry cobbler since we didn't get a chance to the night before. Then we packed up our campsite and headed to the lake with Jared and Britnee to do some swimming. Friday nights adventures were a little rushed for everyone but I have to say that as soon as we got into that lake our vacation took a turn for amazing. OH MAN! It was awesome! Of course, it was 95 degrees plus all the humidity but the lake was like bathwater. It was warmer than our HOA pool that Chloe and I got to swim in on Thursday! We had beautiful soft sand where Chloe and I built sand castles and that big inflatable "Iceberg" (climbing wall) that was out in the middle. Of course, I had to try it out. I wish it has been up against a peer or something so I could get my footing (it wasn't for obvious safety reasons). I seriously lack upper body strength because I couldn't latch onto the 2nd tier of rungs.

Once we had all turned into prunes, (2 hours later) everyone went to Jared's house for some relaxation in the A/C while Chris and I went fishing. We didn't catch anything but fishing is always fun no matter if you come home with a catch or not.

By 5pm, we headed back home and got some home grown Georgia peaches on the way from a little stand on the side of the road. They were very tasty. We are very happy to be back in our beautiful air conditioned house but can't wait to do it again, hopefully sometime in cooler weather...like October.
Yay for such an awesome vacation!!
