Couch and Broken Pipe

So, we didn't get to go to the Tucker Easter Egg Hunt Sat morning like we had planned but we still had a great day. It just wasn't as full of candy as anticipated.

While out driving, Brad calls me and says he found a "couch by the side of the road" and wanted to know if he could bring it home. It turns out it was an antiques dealer who was selling his couch, which was a 1940's newly re-upholstered Duncan Phyfe. It's vintage so of course I was all over it. We found the perfect place for it in our loft and spent some time today rearranging our book shelf and Brad's computer desk. We love it! Up until today, our loft has been quite the sight of messiness and blah. Now it's dressed up and beautiful.

Also, Brad and his dad gave our water pipe one last attempt Friday night but it still leaks. So we called a local plumbing company and they came out yesterday afternoon. We're SO glad that our pipe drama has ended. No more wet carpet and soggy walls!!! I can't wait to tear out that carpet and begin installing our new wood-looking flooring. Hip Hip Horrayy!! The picture of the cut open wall is from the day Brad and Chris spent all day trying to fix it.

  1. I've never seen anything like that couch (until you posted on Facebook). I think it's so elegant and classy! It's so crazy what you can find when driving around here on weekends.

  3. I’m so glad that the pipe drama was over! Looking at the photo, I can tell it was not a pretty sight. This might ruin your “new” couch and your carpet. Worse, it might cause water damage and mold formation in the area. [Elia Lester]
